National Marathon Championships 2019

Are you up for the ultimate kettlebell challenge? non-stop kettlebell lifting for 30 or 60 minutes!

Lifts
Jerk, Snatch, Half Snatch, Long Cycle with one or two bells changing hands at will.

30 mins: Half Marathon
60 mins: Marathon
15 mins: Quarter marathon

Weights
Adult- All weights 8kg upwards (note the weights which you can qualify for Irish team below)
Juniors- All weights from 2kg upwards (note the weights which you can qualify for Irish team below)

Note: If an athlete puts the kettlebell down before time is up the score does not count. 

Junior Quarter Marathon
At our national championships, Juniors U18 may compete in the quarter marathon (15 mins) in jerk, snatch, half snatch, Long Cycle

If You wish to Qualify for the Irish Team please note the information below

AKSI is permitted to put forward a maximum of two persons per weight category and age group for our Irish Marathon Team which will attend the IKMF European and World Championships.

In the marathon and half marathon disciplines AKSI members have the opportunity to compete as part of the Irish Team at IKMF European & World Kettlebell Championships or take part in the Ultimate Girevik Cup Kettlebell League.

IKMF European Championships take place in Denmark in April 2019 and for the  IKMF World Championships in Poland November.

The next round of qualifiers for the AKSI Irish Marathon Team take place in Laois 30-31st March 2019.

European & World Championships
30 min – KETTLEBELL HALF MARATHON (1 kettlebell and 2 kettlebells)
60 min- KETTLEBELL MARATHON (1 kettlebell)Jerk/Long Cycle/Snatch/Half snatch

To register for Elite categories at the IKMF European and World Championships, you must obtain CMS rank or hold a CMS rank in traditional girevoy sport (GS).

For athletes in open and junior categories, the coefficient formula is used to determine the winners across the categories. 
The coefficient formula is NOT used for kids 10 years and under nor for those competing in the Elite categories.

Age is calculated according to the athlete’s year of birth, NOT the actual birthday.

Kids 1 (7-10 years)

Veteran 2: 50-59
Veteran 3: 60-69
Veteran 4: 70+
Veteran athletes may compete in the Open division at their own risk and decision. Junior athletes may compete in older categories with parental permission.

-60, 60-70, +70kg for women
-75, 75-85, +85kg for men
