Jingle Bells Pentathlon

The AKSI AGM will take place at 11:00am in Kilkenny.
All AKSI Members are welcome to attend.

At the AGM we’ll reflect and discuss our activities and events in 2018 and plan for the year ahead including the WKSF World Championships which we will host in May. We look forward to another great year!

Irish Team 2018

With the snow causing major disruptions this spring our competition in March had to be rescheduled until April. Unfortunately this meant some of our team missed the qualifiers. However they will get a chance to qualify again in July for the European Championships later this year in Portugal.

Double bell lifts included for Marathon at this years European Championships in Ireland

For the very first time IKMF have decided to introduce double bell lifts for half marathon as this years European Championships in Kettlebell Marathon which will be held in Portlaoise in May.

Athletes can now compete in jerk, half snatch or long cycle using double bells as below.
Womens Open 2 x 12kg
Womens Veteran 2 x 8kg

Mens Open 2 x 20kg
Mens Veteran 2 x 16kg

Register now through your IKMF representative. Qualifying standard of CMS must be obtained in marathon or traditional gs lifts to qualify.

IKMF European Championships 2018 to be held in Ireland

Following on from the great success of the Irish Team at IKMF European Championships in Greece in May, we’re delighted to announce that the IKMF European Marathon Championships 2018 will be held in Portlaoise, Co Laois, Ireland from 25th-27th May 2018.

AGE GROUPS
Age is calculated according to the athlete’s year of birth, NOT the actual birthday.

Junior 1 (U15): up to 14 (up to national competition level only) Juniors U15 must apply with IKMF president through your IKMF Country Rep.
Junior 2 (U19): 15-18
Open division: 19-39
Veteran 1: 40-49
Veteran 2: 50-59
Veteran 3: 60-69
Veteran 4: 70+
Veterean and Junior athletes are always allowed compete in the open division also at their own risk and decision.

Best of luck to our Irish Team at IGSF World Championships in Greece

The AKSI Irish Kettlebell Team arrived in Loutraki, Greece today ahead of the IGSF World Championships which takes place 13th & 14th October. The team comprises of athletes from all over Ireland who will battle it out on the platforms in biathlon, snatch and Long Cycle. This is the first year women can compete in the double jerk event which is a huge milestone for the sport following the addition of women’s long cycle in 2015. Follow their progress live on our social media channels.

Registration Now OPEN for Grassroots Navan

Join us in Navan, Co Meath on Saturday 16th September for the third Irish Grassroots Kettlebell League Competition. The Competition is being hosted by Laura Mullen in association with Three Rivers Kettlebell Club and Club Active Navan.

We look forward to welcoming some new lifters to the platforms which is what these Grassroots Kettlebell League competitions are all about.
